Clover

Clover was seven years of soft fur and surprising mischief. She had one ear that stood up and one that flopped, a love of fresh basil, and a habit of doing little happy hops — "binkies" — across the living room when she was pleased with the world.

She would thump her foot to let us know her opinion, groom our fingers when we sat with her, and tuck herself into the smallest cardboard box she could find. For such a tiny creature she filled the whole house.
