Rocky

Rocky followed his nose everywhere for fourteen wonderful years. Every walk was an investigation, every dropped crumb a victory, every visitor a new best friend. He had the softest ears in the world and a howl he saved for fire trucks and family reunions.

He was there when we brought the baby home and appointed himself her personal guardian, sleeping by the crib without being asked. He grew slow and gentle at the end, but those ears stayed soft and that tail never stopped.
